Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BookChain platform, websites, and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by CHAINREACTION TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED ("BookChain", "we", "us"), a company registered in the Republic of Zambia. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use BookChain
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. If you use BookChain on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your login details secure. You must let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used unlawfully.
3. The Service
BookChain provides tools that let businesses ("Providers") publish availability and accept bookings from their customers ("Customers"). We give Providers the software to manage bookings, schedules, and payments. We are a technology provider — we do not deliver the underlying services that Providers offer, and we are not a party to the agreement between a Provider and their Customer.
4. Bookings between Providers and Customers
When a Customer books through a Provider's page, the resulting agreement for that appointment or service is between the Customer and the Provider. Providers are responsible for honouring bookings, setting accurate prices and availability, and for their own cancellation and refund terms, subject to our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Payments
Payments made through the Service are processed by third-party payment providers, including licensed mobile money and card gateways. By making or accepting a payment, you also agree to the terms of the relevant payment provider. We do not store full card details on our own systems. Subscription fees for the Service are billed to Providers in advance on a monthly basis and are described on our Pricing page.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- offer goods or services that are illegal, fraudulent, or misleading;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or interfere with its operation;
- upload malicious code or content that infringes the rights of others.
7. Fees and changes
We may change our subscription fees by giving reasonable notice. If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel before it takes effect. Fees already paid for a current billing period are handled in line with our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. Availability
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, update features, or suspend parts of the Service where reasonably necessary.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to CHAINREACTION TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED. You keep ownership of the content and data you add to the Service, and you grant us the permissions we need to operate the Service for you.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by Zambian law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from the acts of Providers or Customers. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end, though provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Zambian courts.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@bookchain.co.zm or by post to CHAINREACTION TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED, [registered office address], Lusaka, Zambia.
