Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CHAINREACTION TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED ("BookChain", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the BookChain platform (the "Service"). We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with the Data Protection Act of Zambia.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us and information created when you use the Service:
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and business details for Providers.
- Booking information — the service booked, date and time, and the contact details a Customer provides to complete a booking.
- Payment information — limited transaction details needed to confirm a payment. Full card numbers are handled by our payment providers, not stored on our systems.
- Technical information — device, browser, and usage data collected automatically to keep the Service secure and working.
2. How we use information
- To operate the Service — creating bookings, managing schedules, and processing payments.
- To send confirmations, reminders, and important service messages.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To keep the Service secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing information
We share information only where needed to run the Service. This includes sharing booking details between a Customer and the relevant Provider, and sharing payment details with the licensed payment providers that process transactions. We use trusted service providers (for example, hosting and messaging providers) who act on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Payment providers
Payments are processed by third-party mobile money and card gateways. When you make a payment, the relevant provider processes your payment details under its own privacy terms. We recommend reviewing the privacy notice of the payment provider used at checkout.
5. Keeping information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if a problem arises.
7. Your rights
Subject to Zambian law, you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to have it deleted where appropriate. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service working. Where we use any non-essential cookies, we will make that clear and seek consent where required.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults and for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
11. Contact
